Driving Events Vulnerable Road Users
Description
Description
Our ‘Driving Events Vulnerable Road Users’ service allows you to locate and count where and when atypical driving events happened at and around potentially risky areas for Vulnerable road users directly on your GIS.
Vulnerable road users potentially risky areas identification:
Issued from MICHELIN DDi expertise in AI, we built a deep learning model that, based on historical crash reports and contextual data, allows us to identify patterns and therefore areas where VRUs are potentially the most at risk.
Events Counted: We offer 5 main events, potentially indicative of a near miss incident:
Key Features:
- Atypical driving events clusters
- Service available at and around identified Vulnerable road users risky zones
- Weather, solar and week/week-end contextualization
- Filtering by road features, driving events (accel, braking ..) and type of VRUs (Pedestrians, Cyclists and other)
- Before/after comparisons
- Compatible with any GIS
- MICHELIN DDi proprietary AI algorithms
Want to go one step further ?
Our add-on service 'Detailed driving events' allows you to get detailed information on individual driving events such as :
- Event type
- Date, time, day of the week
- GPS coordinates and speed at the beginning and end of the trip
- Context : weather ...
and much more...

LEVERAGE DATA INSIGHTS
Based on millions of connected drivers, understand where and when road safety issues may arise tackling atypical driving events to complement past crash data.
INTEGRATE EASILY
All information slips onto geographic information systems, enhancing other data sets and with no other infrastructure requirements.
ALLOCATE RESSOURCES
Justify and allocate the right resources at the right time and place based on a easily measurable new safety KPI.
BEFORE/AFTER ANALYSIS
Monitor and quickly valorize your actions through before / after analysis that you can create independently directly on your GIS.
How does it work ?
How does it work ?
Paving the way toward vision zero with MICHELIN DDi Vulnerable road users service suite
Given the rise in the number of crashes involving all types of road users and the development of the use of multi-modal transportation, road strategies are evolving to better support the safety of those Vulnerable Road Users (Pedestrians, Cyclists etc...).
Combining expertise in data analysis and driving behavior, MICHELIN DDi creates solutions to go beyond crash data reports allowing you to act before accidents happen. Leveraging millions of connected vehicules and using machine learning and proprietary algorithms, our Vulnerable road users (VRUs) services suite allows road safety officials to detect, locate and assess atypical driving behaviors indicative of potential near miss incidents with VRUs.
The output?
A game-changing perspective to go beyond past crash data. With near miss data comes the potential to identify risky zones and act before crashes occur to reach vision zero goals.
